How does Trosyl work?

Trosyl nail solution penetrates the membranes of the cells, which are causing the infection, and causes them to break down and die. Infections of the nail are difficult to treat because of the fact that nails are hard to penetrate and they take a long time to grow.

How do I use Trosyl?

Trosyl nail solution is applied to the infected nail twice a day. It is painted onto the nail like a nail varnish. When it is applied Trosyl forms a film on the surface of the nail, which lets the medicine penetrate the hard surface of the nail and reach the nail bed where the infection is located.

How long do I need to use Trosyl nail solution?

You need to continue using Trosyl nail solution until the infected part of the nail has grown out. As nails grow slowly this process can take between six and twelve months.

Can I use Trosyl if I am pregnant?

The safety of Trosyl has not been established for women who are pregnant or for those who are breast-feeding. For this reason the manufacturer recommends that pregnant or breastfeeding women should not be prescribed Trosyl.

Does Trosyl have any side effects?

Like all prescription medications Trosyl can cause side effects. A common side effect is swelling of the skin. Uncommon side effects include rash and irritation of the skin around the area, which is being treated.

You should not use nail varnish on nails that are being treated with Trosyl.
