What is Zineryt?

Zineryt is a medication that is used in the treatment of acne. Its active ingredient is the antibiotic erythromycin, that helps to reduce the inflammation caused by acne. Acne is caused by an increase in amount of bacteria in the skin follicles. Erythromycin stops the bacteria from producing the proteins, which they need in order to multiply. By reducing the number of bacteria present in the skin follicles, erythromycin also reduced the redness that is caused by acne. It also reduces the amount of sebum in the skin, which also helps to reduce eruptions of acne.

Zineryt also contains an ingredient called zinc acetate. Zinc acetate helps the antibiotic to penetrate deeper into the skin and thus reach the source of the problem.

How to use Zineryt

Zineryt comes in a bottle with an applicator pad. Before applying Zineryt you should wash the affected are thoroughly. You apply the solution by holding the pad against the bottle top, turning the bottle upside down and then placing the pad against the affected area of skin. You should also apply the solution to the area around the affected area of skin as well. Any excess solution should be wiped off with a tissue. Ensure that you do not get the solution in your mouth, your eyes or your nose. You can apply make up after the medication has dried.

You should apply Zineryt to the affected area twice daily. The usual length of the treatment is ten to twelve weeks, but in severe cases, acne may take a few months to heal.

Who can use Zineryt?

As Zineryt is applied locally, it is suitable for women who are pregnant and who are breast-feeding. Women who are breast-feeding, however, should not apply Zineryt on the chest area. You should not use Zineryt of you are allergic to erythromycin or to any similar antibiotics. You should also refrain from using Zineryt if you are allergic to zinc or to any of the other ingredients in Zineryt.

Side effects of Zineryt

Most people who are prescribed Zineryt find that they do not experience any side effects. Those who do, tend to experience itching, slight redness of the skin or temporary stinging after the lotion is applied. If the burning sensation or rash do not go away after a few hours, or if the skin reddens more every time you use Zineryt, then you should stop using the medication and speak to your doctor.
